Substance Abuse Prevention Services—Welcome!

Glad you’re here. Let’s start with introductions.

Eden Morrison
Eden Morrison, Substance Abuse Prevention Services Program Manager

My name is Eden Morrison, I am the Substance Abuse Prevention Services (SAPS) program manager here at FCCI. I have worked in this position for a year and prior to that I worked for five years in education.

Together my team and I provide drug prevention and life skills curriculum in most local schools, distribute educational information about opioids and other drugs throughout the community, and now were are dipping our toes in to the world of cyberspace.

It is our goal to support you in the work that you are doing to create an environment that produces healthy, strong, capable young adults.

In this little slice of the Interwebs we will be discussing all things substance use prevention.

That means we will be providing you with the necessary information, tools, tips and tricks to educate yourself and the children in your life about healthy, sober living and life skills.

We will be addressing current drug trends, the effects of drugs on the body, and ways to discern if your child is using substances. Additionally, we will talk about how to have hard conversations with teens and how to set clear boundaries about drug and alcohol use.

Sometimes you may find us addressing specific community issues, or even underlying issues that contribute to drug and alcohol use such as anxiety or depression.

If you have any topics you would like covered, shoot us an email and we will do our best to make it happen.

Come back looking for new material each week. You can also find us represented regularly @fccinconline on Instagram and @Family Counseling Center, Inc. on Facebook.

We look forward to working with you to our kids, families, and communities healthy.

Thanks for joining us!
