FCC receives grant from Ameren Illinois to purchase washer and dryer for new CILA home in Hardin County.

Family Counseling Center, Inc. is the recipient of a community grant from Ameren Illinois to assist in the purchase of a front load washer and dryer for the agency’s newest Community Integrated Living Arrangement (CILA) home, River’s Landing, located in Hardin County Illinois.  The home, housing up to 6 individuals, provides a safe and stable living environment in which residents with intellectual disabilities live as independently as possible while receiving support and supervision from staff. The purchase of the washer and dryer set, funded by Ameren Illinois, enables these residents to practice daily living skills such as washing their own laundry.  The design and utilization of a front washer and dryer assists the residents, many of whom are physically disabled, in being able to perform this task independently or with minimal assistance from staff.
