185 Families Affected by Cairo Housing Crisis

Family Counseling Center, Inc. has set up a fund to help 185 families that are being evicted from the McBride and Elmwood Apartments in Cairo, Illinois. To receive monetary assistance for the purchase of household goods, individuals will need to present 1 form of ID (i.e., state ID, driver’s license, social security card, birth certificate, or mail showing current address) to verify that they are a resident of the housing complexes. A needs assessment will be completed with each individual to ensure the purchase is necessary and within reason. Requests for assistance will be processed at the following location:
